Without mobile signal, and your data

What works in a field with no network, and what never leaves your phone.

Without mobile signal

GPS works without a network: measuring on foot and corner by corner always work. The map shows the areas you have viewed recently, kept on the phone; elsewhere it stays grey without a network. Address search and Terrain need a connection.

Maps cannot be downloaded in advance: the terms of the map providers forbid it, and the app respects them. Before going to a field with no signal, look at it once on the map at home.

Your data

Your measurements stay on your phone: no account, no server. To keep them when you change phone, make a backup in My data and keep the file — see Saving, sharing and backups.

The map tiles, the address search, Terrain and the ads use the network; your position and your measurements are never sent. Details on the Privacy page.

Map cache

The map tiles you have seen are kept up to a size limit. Map cache, in the settings, shows their size and clears them.
